I thought your site very interesting because it mirrors a lot of what we've been doing lately with regard to financial topics/advice. We held a "Financial Survival Fair" during CU Week, and we now are offering a "Financial Survival Kit" to our members that is proving popular. While researching trends for my marketing plan, I found (what I and you, obviously, already knew) that 2009 will be the year of consumer thrift, practicality, etc. So we are ahead of a trend! :-) I really think these types of things really add value for our members and set us apart from many other financial institutions.

Hello everyone. I was previously the Community Affairs Director for MidState Educators Credit Union and did a lot of our financial education seminars. Now I'm just an average Joe trying to get (and then stay) debt free! Hard to do as a first-time parent and with a couple of cars we still want to pay off.

Getting back on the wagon
I have been TERRIBLE lately about hitting the convenience foods and eating out more than I should. I could make a lot of excuses, but the fact is I've just been lazy lately. I've been spending more on food as a result, too.
So I vowed this evening that I was going to MAKE DINNER AT HOME with whatever available items were in the fridge and the freezer.
So I grabbed the following items from our existing stock of random edibles:
- frozen turkey kielbasa
- onion
- pine nuts
- tomato

For those of you who have President's Day off
