Brought to you by MidState Educators Credit Union

Hello, this is Bai Nong. It will be my first time posting here. I though I would like to help out since Danielle is doing most of the posting. Anyways, just post anything that you would like to share with all of us. This is a social networking site so please start voicing your opinion. It is your right under the first amendment so use it please.

Now that I am done with my duty as an administrator of this website, let's stick with the topic of this post. I was informed about this internship opportuny by my crossroad teacher Mr.Murray. At first, I didn't know anything about MidState Educator Credit Union besides that i opened a saving account in here. At my first interview with Danielle and Angie( pretty nervous at that time), I learned that MidState Educator Union start out serving those who work for Columbus School District but have expand its service to all those who are employ in the educational field at Ohio as well as those who are to be educated. It was nice to know little bit info about the Credit Union.

I started out helping Danielle to do research on different E-Newsletter provider as well as how to set up this website. It was a fun project since i have no experience in both. Learning new things is always good for me. Then i start doing data entry in Synapsys and envelop folding for Angie. It is those repeative works that needed to be done but I think Angie is probably tired of me bugging her for more. After that, I started doing a project for Tara to compare different Mobile Banking Solution. It is something new to me since I'm the rare 1% of my age group who doesn't own a cell phone. Learning all the technological advances is always fun to me because they made our life MUCH easier. There are many other things I did and learned and the experiences just keep on growing as i continue with this internship.

Now that I tell you about some of my internship experience, it is time for you to tell me what you think of it or somethings about your first job/internship experiences. I will be happy to see you share some of your experience with the rest of us here. Thanking for reading this lenghty post of mine and I hope you enjoy it.

BaiNong - thanks for sharing your experience. Those first internships and jobs in life can be interesting when it's a new field.

In the spirit of sharing information about first jobs, I'll share that my very first one (aside from babysitting, etc) was working as a teller at a credit union that was on the campus of a facility for developmentally challenged individuals. We served both the employees of the facility as well as the residents.

I was a TERRIBLE teller. The second day on the job I managed to do something during a transaction that the President had never seen before and it threw the entire credit union's transactions out of balance for the day. She and I stayed late for a couple of hours before we could fix my error. I repeated a similar experience about two more times before I started settling in. Thank goodness I had coworkers with a sense of humor and an extremely patient boss. Finally got the hang of it after some time on the job.

Here's to first jobs!
